Top Ten Books on My Fall TBR

Top Ten Tuesday blog header 9-19-17

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Each week features a different theme or prompt for which you come up with a list of ten books or ideas. This week’s theme is a very easy one for me to come up with ten books for: books on my fall TBR. As my followers are probably well aware, I always set pretty ambitious TBRs so there are plenty of books that I could include on this list and it was pretty hard for me to narrow it down. But anyway, I did my best and came up with 10 books that I’m hoping to read this fall!

Top Ten Books I Read Years Ago That I Want To Reread

Top Ten Tuesday blog header 9-12-17

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Each week features a different theme or prompt for which you come up with a list of ten books or ideas. This week’s theme is a throwback freebie so we have quite a bit of room to do what we’d like this week. I decided to talk about some books that I read quite awhile ago that I’d like to reread. I’m not a big rereader because I have so many books waiting for me to read them for the first time, but there are still several books/series that I want to take another look at. Some are old favorites while others are books that I loved at the time, but have a feeling I would feel differently about now. So without further delay, here are some books that I read years ago that I’d like to reread!

Top Ten Books I Struggled With Reading

Top Ten Tuesday blog header 9-5-17

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly post hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Each week features a different theme or prompt for which you come up with a list of ten books or ideas. This week’s theme, copied from the website, is Ten Books I Struggled to Get Into But Ended Up Loving or Ten Books That Were A Chore To Get Through or Ten Books I’ve Most Recently Put Down (the theme is books you had a hard time with – tweak it however you need). I decided to feature some books that I struggled with, but that still had parts that I enjoyed. Some of these were really boring but had amazing endings, others had lovable characters but were really slow-moving, etc. The point is that these are books that I didn’t hate but that I didn’t love either. Some of these even ended up being four-star reads for me, but they still had something about them that I really struggled with at some point. Without further hesitation, let’s get into the list!

Top 10 Hidden Gems in YA Contemporary

Top Ten Tuesday blog header 8-29-17

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly themed post hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Each week features a different theme or prompt for which you come up with a list of 10 books or ideas. This week’s theme is hidden gems in X genre. Because I’ve been reading quite a lot of YA contemporary recently, I decided to highlight some lesser-known books in the genre. Some of these may not be truly “hidden gems,” but they’re books that I think deserve more recognition than they seem to get, at least in the blogging community. Quite a few of these are books that I’ve raved about before so if you’ve been following me for awhile, this might seem a little repetitive for you. But since there are always new people visiting my blog, I’m going to mention them anyway since I seriously love these books and think that more people should read them. 🙂 I’ve tried to include content warnings where needed, but some of these were books I read before I started paying attention to things like that, so forgive me if I’ve missed/forgotten any. As usual, links will take you to Goodreads.

Top Ten Required Reading Books I Still Want To Read

Top Ten Tuesday blog header 8-22-17

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly themed post hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Each week features a different theme or prompt for which you come up with a list of 10 books or ideas. This week is a back to school freebie and here’s the explanation they gave: anything “back to school” related like 10 favorite books I read in school, books I think should be required reading, Required Reading For All Fantasy Fans, required reading for every college freshman, Books to Pair With Classics or Books To Complement A History Lesson, books that would be on my classroom shelf if I were a teacher, etc. I decided to use this to showcase some books that are commonly assigned in high school, but that I was never assigned and therefore haven’t read. These are all books I want to read at some point but haven’t gotten to just yet. As usual, links will take you to the Goodreads’ pages.

10 Book Recommendations for People Who Want to Diversify Their Reading

Top Ten Tuesday blog header 8-15-17

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly themed post hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Each week features a different theme/prompt for which you come up with a list of 10 books/ideas. This week’s prompt is “ten book recommendations for…” where you get to choose what theme of books to recommend. I decided to talk about 10 diverse books that I’ve read and loved and think you should check out if you’re looking to diversify your reading habits (or if you just need some good book recommendations…). All of these are books I’ve read and, as far as I was able to notice, didn’t have any big problems with representation. I’ve also only listed books that have marginalized protagonists, not just side characters. As usual, title links will take you to Goodreads. I’ll also include links to my reviews so you can check for things like content warnings (although the older reviews will not have these, sorry) or minor representation problems.

10 Popular Authors I’ve Never Read

Top Ten Tuesday blog header 8-8-17

As I’m sure a lot of you know, I usually participate in Top Ten Tuesday posts each Tuesday. As you may also know, Top Ten Tuesday has been on a hiatus for several weeks (this is the last week of the hiatus though – next week TTT returns!). During this time, I’ve been doing past topics that were done before I started blogging. This week I’m talking about popular authors whose books I’ve never read and let me tell you, there are a LOT. I easily could’ve come up with a much longer list. I’ve decided to stick with young adult authors since that’s primarily what I read. All of the links I’ve included will take you the respective author’s website.
