WWW Wednesday (8/9/17)

WWW Wednesday blog header 8-9-17

Hello, everyone! WWW Wednesday is a meme currently hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. It’s very simple – answer the three questions and leave a link on Sam’s post.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

Last night I started reading An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir which is the first book I’m reading for the Make Me Read it Readathon. Admittedly, I am several days late actually starting this readathon, haha. But I wanted to finish my current book before starting another. I’m not very far into this book yet so I can’t say much about it, but I have high hopes for it!

What did you recently finish reading?

Yesterday I finished reading Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller and I LOVED IT. I’m honestly baffled as to why I’ve barely seen any positive reviews for it? It was so, so, so good. If you like YA fantasy, you have to pick it up. I also finished The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli, another book I loved. I can definitely see why so many people rave about it because it was lovely and so adorable.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Depending on how long it takes me to get through An Ember in the Ashes, my next book will either be The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge or The Lost Causes by Jessica Koosed Etting and Alyssa Embree Schwartz. Both are eARCs I have – The Lie Tree a very old, backlist title I still have to review and The Lost Causes an upcoming release.

I probably should join that readathon next time cuz I have a ton of books I’ve been dying to read but just haven’t had the right motivation lol So glad you loved Upside & glad that you really enjoyed Mask of Shadows. I’ll be getting to that one soon *fingers crossed* the September releases alone are crushing the life out of me lol. Happy reading! ❤ ❤ ❤

  2. Oh these all seem like amazing books Kourtni, and I hope they end up being books you really enjoy as well (the ones you’ve yet to read I mean).
I’ve been seeing Mark of Shadows quite a lot recently, but I haven’t seen any reviews myself either. Hearing you loved it though is bringing me one step closer to adding it to my to-read list myself. I’ll have to see if I can find a few reviews to get a better idea of the story. The Upside of Unrequited is on my to-read list as well, and I can’t wait to get around to that one. I loved Becky Albertalli’s first book so I have high hopes for her second! 😀
