Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Purple Booker. Everyone is welcome to join in.

Rules:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers! Everyone loves Teaser Tuesday.

I was originally planning on doing Top Ten Tuesday this week, but life got in the way. I didn’t have time to write the post in advance and then last night was frantically trying to put it together and failing miserably because I went to a Spindle Fire tour event and wasn’t home most of the day. So I decided that I’d take part in Teaser Tuesday this week instead. 🙂

The Horned Scarab by Matthew Marchitto book coverSunday night I started reading Matthew Marchitto’s The Horned Scarab which I received from the author. At the time I’m writing this, I’m only about 20 pages into it (and I think it started on page 7…), but so far, it’s pretty good. This should be a short read as it’s only about 150 pages. What’s annoying me is the fact that on Goodreads, it’s marked as 95 pages which is quite a big difference in such a short book so it’s throwing my tracking off, haha. Eh, I suppose I’ll get over it. Regardless, I’m enjoying this book so far and I’m hoping to finish it within the next few days. Here’s my teaser:

“Orfur plunged his hands into the basin and watched the water turn red. A man’s heart burned in a brazier.”
