Tips On Balancing School & Blogging

random-post-blog-graphic-3

Many of you know that I’m a college student and I’m sure many of you are also students, whether you’re in high school or college. We all know that it can be incredibly difficult to balance school and blogging, especially when the end of the semester picks up and you have 3 papers due one week and 2 exams the next week. It gets really hectic and it can be hard to find time to read, write posts, and visit other blogs. So how do I manage to do well in school and keep up with blogging?

Don’t Sleep

Sleep? What’s that? If you want to make sure you don’t fall behind on schoolwork and also still have time to read and blog, just stay up all night! You can always keep yourself energized by chugging coffee or energy drinks. “But Kourtni, isn’t that bad for my heart?” Who needs a heart anyway????

Don’t Socialize

Who needs to hang out with friends, am I right? They’ll understand if you just drop off the face of the planet for a few days or weeks or months… Just don’t miss any birthdays and it’ll all be fine! “But Kourtni, I need to socialize to stay mentally healthy!” Nahhhh, whoever told you that is lying. Don’t worry about it.

Ignore All Other Responsibilities

Exercise? A job? WHO NEEDS ‘EM?! If you want to be able to read, blog, and not fail your classes, you’re just going to have to neglect every other aspect of your life. It’ll be fine, I promise.

That’s how I manage to balance school, reading, and blogging! It really isn’t that hard! You just have to dedicate yourself to it.

I hope no one was looking for real advice here because I’ve got nothing πŸ˜‰ This is my (not-so-subtle) way of telling you all that I am swamped with schoolwork and kind of dying. It’s hit that point in the semester where I have a lot of papers due on top of my usual “reading 100+ pages a week for each of my 4 classes” so, uh, needless to say, I have not been able to be quite as active as I’d like. I’ve managed to still be pretty active on my own blog, but if you’ve noticed I haven’t been commenting on your posts as much as usual, this is why! The silver lining is that I only have about a month left until finals are over and I’m on winter break, which means I should have plenty of time then to relax, read, and visit all your blogs that I’ve been neglecting. Anybody else out there who’s drowning in schoolwork right now? (I can’t imagine I’m the only one…)

  1. You totally got me πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I thought this was going to be all serious, but honestly I love this even more because I can 100% relate. Even though I’m not at school and I work from home my life is so insanely crazy at the moment. What is sleep and a social life? Never heard of them.

No, but seriously, I hope things calm down for you soon Kourtni β™₯β™₯

  3. SAME to all of the above! Junior year (high school) has gotten so hectic and I feel so guilty for letting my blog fall to the wayside but I have no time if I actually want more than four hours of sleep each night. Thank goodness breaks are coming up!

  4. “Who needs a heart anyway????” πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I cracked up so hard at that! I can relate so much right now because I’ve been struggling when it comes to blog hopping because of school and work. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel though because winter break is almost here. Just a little while longer! Good luck with all of your schoolwork! πŸ’•

  5. Hi Kourtni! I am so going through the same craziness right now! I am in my second term of college (online) and I am utterly swamped with schoolwork!! I have not had a chance to post on my blog in over 20 days and sometimes feel like a failure. I can’t wait for a break! Great post!!! Gina
