Teaser Tuesday (9/13)

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by MizB @ Books and a Beat. Everyone is welcome to join in.

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two ‘teaser’ sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! You don’t want to give too much away so as to not ruin the book for others!
  • Share the title and author so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR lists if they like your teasers.

It feels like it’s been a long time since I’ve done a Teaser Tuesday post but, in reality, it’s only been a few weeks. Anyway, I’m back this week with a teaser for you all!

28365348Sunday night I started reading Revenants: The Odyssey Home by Scott Kauffman. Scott sent me a copy of the book awhile ago to review and I’m finally getting around to it. This is  a story of a young girl, Betsy, whose brother died in Vietnam and she’s now volunteering at a VA hospital. She finds out there’s this secret patient hidden away in the hospital and becomes determined to get him out, but the congressman who owns the hospital does not want that happening. There’s a lot of mystery and suspense surrounding this mysterious patient. Here’s my teaser:

“There would have been no justice in his death. He had a penance yet to pay.”

  1. That’s a really GOOD teaser Kourtni! I was getting ready for a longer one but after reading the synopsis & then the teaser…I’m sitting here like “well damn, what did this mysterious patient do?!?!” & “Why is he being hidden?!?!”

    I’m intrigued! thank you 😉
